ABOUT
Lareina J. Wong is Malaysian Chinese filmmaker and photographer based in Los Angeles. Her passion lies in telling human stories with attention to social causes. At the age of 16, Lareina co-wrote and co-directed a short, Voir Dire, which received a nomination for Best Student Film at the Pacific Southwest Emmy awards. Her short film Genieus, was awarded a grant from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Later, Lareina received an MFA in Film and Television Production from USC School of Cinematic Arts where her thesis film, Soiled, starring Rosalie Chiang from Pixar’s Turning Red, has been featured in festivals such as LA Shorts Film Festival and NewFilmmakers LA. Additionally, Lareina is a Nicholl quarterfinalist for the screenplay, Tavo, which she co-wrote with her writing partner.
